Latest News - November 16, 2018

1.  Clothing Sale - As of the 19th you can order school clothing using CashOnline.  We are selling the same products as last year with the help of Silverscreen. We will have a sizing kit in house for the 23rd (Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences) if you would like to verify how much your children have grown!  Clothing will remain on sale until November 30th and delivery will be in January.  

Were you Ready for Winter?

Good afternoon families!

1.  The cold weather is here and students are still going out for recess so please remind them to wear their ski pants, boots, toques, gloves, scarves... We will only stay inside if the weather (including wind chill) is -25 or less.  

Keeping Busy!

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the Books & Breakfast event this past Thursday.  Thanks also to all the bakers and providers of muffins!  

We have some busy days ahead!  

October 22 - French Concert - Etienne Fletcher for grades 6-8. Ecole St. Elizabeth and Ecole Wilfrid Walker will join us for the event.  

October 23 - Hot Lunch Day. Students who are not registered for lunchroom can still stay and the SCC will provide supervision.  

A Busy Week!

1.  Save the dates! The SCC is hosting an evening Halloween Dance on October 25th (primarily for grades K-4 but older students/siblings are welcome). December 18th will be our annual Winter Concert (location: Living Hope on Arcola). 

2.  Please save your Boston Pizza receipts and send them to our main office. Boston Pizza has partnered with the SCC and they donate 10% of all receipts to our parent council.

Good afternoon parents!

1.  Sports are in full swing at Wascana Plains with both volleyball teams and the cross-country team training several times a week.  Many students have submitted applications to the United Bison Council (our student council) and the team will be selected next week. We look forward to seeing what leadership they provide to our school family.  

We're Back!

Good morning Bison families,

Last night you should have received a package of forms including a letter from me, permission forms, lunchroom registration, and an emergency report.  Please complete them as soon as possible as we rely on this information.  Students with life-threatening conditions also received additional forms.  If your child has a condition we need to know about please contact us immediately.

1.  the Start of Summer BBQ. The SCC (School Community Council) is organizing a community BBQ for June 27th.  Tickets need to be purchased by June 14th.  

2.  school supply needs for 2018-2019.  You have the option this year of purchasing the supplies yourself or using the School Start program.  A letter explaining the service and all the grade level supply lists are on our website.

Breaking Ground on a New Community

Good afternoon Bison families!  We need your support!

Our school has submitted a video into the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation's The Student Project and are needing many views to win the gold star ($7500) or grand ($10 000) prize.  Please visit our video on Youtube and give it a watch.  Please spread the word!  Click here to access the video.  

Welcome to May!

Hard to believe it is May 1!

1.  Mark your calendars for some important June events.  Our Grade 8 Farewell will be Thursday, June 21 and an end of the year celebration and BBQ, hosted by the SCC (School Community Council), will be June 27th.  

2.  A Grade 4-8 school track meet will occur on May 30th.  Students who qualify at the school level will then compete on June 11th in a multi-school meet at Douglas Park.

Good morning Bison families!

1.  Tomorrow is our Celebration of Learning.  Please come at your convenience and stay for as long as you wish.  Tour the classroom, allow your children to brag about all they can do, visit the Book Fair (Studio 1), and 'shop' in our huge lost-and-found collection (2nd floor).

2.  Kindergarten registrations continue to arrive and we are already over 60 for next year!  We will be hosting an Open House for kindergarten families on May 18th from 2-3.  Please share the news!
