Winter Has Arrived!

Hello Wascana families!

1.   Please join me in thanking the Fizzard family for their generous donation of a portable AED machine for our school.  This AED machine will be located near our main office and will also accompany students on school trips outside of the city.  We hope to never need the machine but knowing it is here is comforting.  Thank you!

2.  Please ensure your children have toques, mitts, scarves, boots, etc., as we go outside whenever the wind chill is -25 or less.  Fifteen minutes can feel like a long time when you are not properly dressed for winter.

3.  We are asking that everyone remove their shoes/boots when coming in to our school as we have carpet.  The salt used on the sidewalks is making a mess of our school and we can literally see where people have walked with their boots!  Students remove their boots multiple times a day so we are asking that adults to the same.

4.  Indoor recesses are a reality for the winter months and so we are asking for donations of coloring books, cards, puzzles, board games, etc., to give the kids something novel to do over the recess break.

5.  We are looking for 2 lunchroom supervisors.  Responsibilities include staying with the kids while they eat lunch from 11:45-12:30 and then escorting them on to the playground for recess from 12:30-12:45.  It pays just over $22.  Please contact tracy.youck@rbe.sk.ca if interested.

Stay warm!
