Looking Forward to Tomorrow!

Good morning Bison families!

1.  Tomorrow is our Celebration of Learning.  Please come at your convenience and stay for as long as you wish.  Tour the classroom, allow your children to brag about all they can do, visit the Book Fair (Studio 1), and 'shop' in our huge lost-and-found collection (2nd floor).

2.  Kindergarten registrations continue to arrive and we are already over 60 for next year!  We will be hosting an Open House for kindergarten families on May 18th from 2-3.  Please share the news!

3.  The School Community Council is hosting another Hot Lunch on April 12th.  Please order through Healthy Hunger.  DQ is the restaurant of choice this time.  You must order 5 days prior to the event which will occur during the break.  Consider ordering sooner than later as Monday the 9th (our first day back) will be too late.

4.  Basketball and curling have ended and soccer is in full swing.  Over 90 students signed up to play soccer!  (Grades 4-6)  We'll be looking soon at track practices (4-8) as we will be competing in a multi-school meet later in the spring.

5.  We continue to discuss the traffic and parking concerns with the city and are happy to announce that the signage will be redone by the city to allow for more parking.  The city will also be adding a crosswalk on Chuka to keep our students safe.  The work is slated for the spring.

6.  If you are watching the Junos this Sunday please be on the lookout for our own Mr. Crawford.  He has been nominated for 2 awards for his work with the band The Dead South.

7.  We received great news this week as our application for a MusiCounts grant was successful!  We were given $5000 for Julie Cornwall's proposed ukulele program.

8. Please consider following us on Twitter as we have much to brag about!  Just this week our students made cookies for St. Elizabeth staff, worked with pigs' lungs, presented Wednesday night for MarchOutRacism, and participated in Practical and Applied Arts.  @WascanaPlains

See you tomorrow!
