February Update

Good morning,

1.  Our SCC is hosting a presentation by I.C.E. (Internet Child Exploitation Unit) on Thursday, March 14 @ 7PM here at the school.  This is an adult only event as the presentation is not appropriate for those under the age of 18.  The event poster can be found HERE.

2.  Orders are due by Friday if you want to participate in next week's Hot Lunch (Pizza).

3.  Change to bus parking!  As of today the DOG bus will be parking at the front of the school.  Please do not stop or park on the south side of Green Brooks Way as all spots are required for buses and/or taxis before and after school.

4.  This frigid weather tends to increase our amount of late arriving students.  Doors at the back are locked shortly after the bell and we don't want anyone caught outside.  Teacher supervisors have to get to class so late students must come in through the front door and check in at the office.

5.  We are a public school but not a public building so safety measures are required.  As you know, the front door is monitored by Mrs. Rostad and all visitors need to check in at the office.  Please meet your child there if picking them up and leave any items (lunches, gym shoes) with her and she will call your child down.  Any visitor, including parents, wanting to go beyond the office will require a visitor badge as this informs staff that we know of your presence.  This is for the safety of all our kids and staff.

6.  We are accepting kindergarten registrations so please spread the word or submit registrations for any younger siblings.  The sooner we know numbers the sooner we can plan for the fal

7.  Grade 8 students and families:  It is time to think High School!  Your address determines the school where your child will attend. If you have other intentions an Exemption must be completed and submitted asap.  Students wanting an exemption have been given a copy of the form.  Please return it to our office asap as 'spend-a-day' high school experiences are scheduled for March and we would like students to attend the appropriate event.

Stay warm!
