November 1 - Winter has Arrived!

Good afternoon Wascana Plains families!

1. The snow has arrived so please consider sending an extra pair of socks (boot rooms do tend to get messy) and gloves in your child's backpack so they have a dry pair when outside.  Ski pants are also very useful if your child is one who likes to play in the snow.

2.  Mrs. Lori Bresciani is our city councilor and she is advocating for a plan for the ever-increasing traffic near the school (Chuka Drive).  She welcomes any letters from parents so that she can compile a list of support.  Please send your concerns to lbrescia@regina.ca.

3.  The School Community Council has begun using the SCC link under PARENTS in our drop down menu.  Please check back periodically or follow them on Facebook (Ecole Wascana Plains SCC).  Thank you to everyone who came out to support our first event last Thursday.  So nice to see the community come together!  Our next meeting is Thursday, November 16th at 7:00 if you are interested in joining us.

4.  Yesterday's United Way Fundraiser was also a great success.  Students raised $495 thanks to your support.

5.  Please note that November 24th will be our student-parent-teacher conference day.  Students will not have regular classes but are to attend the conference with you.  Teachers will be sending out invites asap.  For students in the French Immersion B Kindergarten class, your conferences will be held on November 16th.

Stay warm!
