Parlez vous......?

We need your help!

Our student leadership team, the UBC (United Bison Council), is coordinating an event to promote anti-racism.

With the books purchased for our multi-language Glenrose Homes Collection, students and parents who speak languages other than English are invited to come read a book in their first language to a class during the week of March 19-22.

Snow and More Snow!

Good afternoon families,

As you may have already heard, all transportation will be canceled again tomorrow (Wednesday). The school will be open. If you choose to keep your child at home please let the office know.

Good luck to all our French oratorical participants - competing this Thursday here at Wascana Plains.  A big thank you to our volunteer judges Mme Joanne Yeo and Mme Isabelle Campeau.

Checking In!

Good morning Bison families!

1.  The SCC has scheduled another hot lunch for Tuesday, February 13th.  Subway is the chosen vendor.  Please return to Healthy Hunger (www.healthyhunger.ca) to order.  Order must be made 5 days prior so please do so soon.  Contact Lisa Kress at lisaswhite@hotmail.com if you need assistance.

What a Night!

Thank you to everyone who came and made our first Winter Concert such a successful night.  There is something magical about bringing a whole school together so thanks to Living Hope Alliance Church for opening their doors to our large family.  Although the church administration usually charges a rental fee they decided yesterday to forego it and extend a helpful hand to our new school!  What a nice surprise!  On our community's behalf the admission collected yesterday will be gifted to the church ($500) and the Food Bank ($500).

Four Sleeps Until the Show!

Winter Concert Update!

We just finished a run-through of the whole show and it is coming together well!  They will melt your hearts even if winter is not your favorite season!

Doors will open at 12:45 (1:30 show) and 6:15 (7:00 show). Admission is a suggested $2 for adults to help offset the costs of the rental.

Snow Biz!

Dear Parents,

As we flip the calendar over to December it reminds us that we are getting closer to this year’s Winter Concert. The title of this year’s performance is ‘Snow Biz’. It is a frosty musical revue that is sure to warm our hearts as we get ready to celebrate the holiday season. There’s no business like “snow” business! Just ask Weatherman Storm Watch, The Zamboni Brothers, Professor Snow-It-All, and the whole cast of Ecole Wascana Plains K-8.

Looking Forward to Friday!

Good morning Bison families,

1.  This Friday is our Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences.  We look forward to discussing your child's strengths and goals with you!  Please arrive on time for your conference but allow a couple extra minutes following your conference to visit the office if you need assistance with signing up for newsletters (coming directly to your email), CashOnline (online payment of fees) or access to Parent Portal (unique codes are required). We also have our school jewelry in the office if you would like to come take a look!

Winter Has Arrived!

Hello Wascana families!

1.   Please join me in thanking the Fizzard family for their generous donation of a portable AED machine for our school.  This AED machine will be located near our main office and will also accompany students on school trips outside of the city.  We hope to never need the machine but knowing it is here is comforting.  Thank you!

November 1 - Winter has Arrived!

Good afternoon Wascana Plains families!

1. The snow has arrived so please consider sending an extra pair of socks (boot rooms do tend to get messy) and gloves in your child's backpack so they have a dry pair when outside.  Ski pants are also very useful if your child is one who likes to play in the snow.
